I'm sort of afraid with the fact that Arcsys has been pumping out so many products that they won't be able to handle them all, as Central Fiction seemed to be quickly forgotten by them. Well this was a little topic I wanted to do to share with the Era community on how the end of the *current* Blazblue franchise went down. People were also waiting on Jubei since, forever, and we finally got him in September, only for it to be 10 months after the game had launched and the community for it had dwindled down, as there really hadn't been any post launch support after that. Come the release of the game, the online is a mess with a lot of disconnections and lag occurring, with the netcode not getting patched in for a month+ after launch. The first thing being that the game wouldn't be receiving an English dub, which may seem like not a big deal, but the dub for the Blazblue games were GREAT, and what a lot of fans associated with the franchise. And lastly, the handling of this game from an image perspective was just poorly handled. The overall package just seemed depressingly lacking. The game didn't add very many stages either. They removed Unlimited modes for the characters which were always hectic and epic battles to be a part of. Doesn't help that they made obtaining money within the game much more difficult than before, requiring a lot of grinding. The gallery mode had a lot of recycled artwork from previous games, making it less of an enjoyable feature to go through. In addition to the story mode being downsized, so were other features of the game.Litchi, which was a great recap and terminology lesson while also being super hilarious. This in turn limited character involvement in the story even more. But here, they just gave the game chapters, with only a couple of gag endings, and.that's it. They were able to at least make up for this with the more gag mode endings, Remix Heart, and an additional story sub branch in the Extend version. The story already was gutted in Chrono Phantasma, implementing three main story routes instead of individual character stories, as well as removing Help Me Professor Kokonoe as a result. As for the story, a lot of stuff was removed in Central Fiction.

But it seems pretty apparent that the story didn't need a full game to complete. And the story in this game was.not good, the first act was essentially a retelling of Calamity Trigger for some plot device reason, the second act a ton of exposition, and the third act.was actually pretty cool. This entry followed Chrono Phantasma, which was said to be the last entry of the franchise, until they changed their mind and made a fourth game to continue the story. As one of the seven Blazblue fans in the world, it's kind of disappointing to see how it left the franchise: So if everyone heard the news, Blazblue Central Fiction will not be on the main stage for EVO.
